چکیده
198 It is of note that the OMERACT process has been emulated by 2 other independent groups: one in the field of chronic juvenile arthritis5, and one in ankylosing spondylitis6. The former first developed a core set followed by response criteria, closely mimicking the process of the American College of Rheumatology and OMERACT for adult rheumatoid arthritis. The latter initially formulated a core set for ankylosing spondylitis, but has since decided to bring their process under the OMERACT umbrella.

Developing core outcome measurement sets for clinical trials: OMERACT filter 2.0.
BACKGROUND Lack of standardization of outcome measures limits the usefulness of clinical trial evidence to inform health care decisions. This can be addressed by agreeing on a minimum core set of outcome measures per health condition, containing measures relevant to patients and decision makers. Since 1992, the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) consensus initiative has successfully dev...
متن کاملUpdating the OMERACT filter: implications for patient-reported outcomes.
OBJECTIVE At a previous Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) meeting, participants reflected on the underlying methods of patient-reported outcome (PRO) instrument development. The participants requested proposals for more explicit instrument development protocols that would contribute to an enhanced version of the "Truth" statement in the OMERACT Filter, a widely used guide for outcome v...
متن کاملPatient perspective: fatigue as a recommended patient centered outcome measure in rheumatoid arthritis.
The Patient Perspective Workshop at OMERACT 8 considered evidence for the importance of fatigue to patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and whether measurement of fatigue meets the requirements of the OMERACT filter. The workshop participants included 20 patients from 10 countries and 60 other OMERACT participants. Introductory papers and detailed notes for discussion group members set out t...
متن کاملDo outcomes reported in randomised controlled trials of joint replacement surgery fulfil the OMERACT 2.0 Filter? A review of the 2008 and 2013 literature
BACKGROUND It is not known, whether outcome reporting in trials of total joint arthroplasty in the recent years is adequate or not. Our objective was to assess whether outcomes reported in total joint replacement (TJR) trials fulfil the Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) Filter 2.0. METHODS We systematically reviewed all TJR trials in adults, published in English in 2008 or 2013. Sear...
متن کاملProgress toward the development of a new definition of remission in rheumatoid arthritis.
The first definition of remission in rheumatoid arthritis was proposed by Pinals and colleagues in 1981. Although its development process was of high quality, the definition proved unfeasible and was not often applied. Subsequently many other definitions appeared, either as variations or as cutpoints of disease activity indices. The American College of Rheumatology, together with the European L...
